Questions

The questions people actually ask

Every answer here matches the agreement you would sign. Where an answer rests on a written term, the term is in the terms or the refund policy — not in a sentence on a marketing page.

If you are thinking about a panel

Pricing is on the pricing page in full. These are the things people ask after they have read it.

What is a community board?
A 24″ × 36″ board we design, print, deliver and set up inside a local venue — a restaurant, a café, a barbershop, a service counter. The top of it belongs to the venue: they write their own specials and notices there. Underneath are six panels. Five are sold to local businesses. The sixth is given to a local nonprofit, free, and is never sold to anyone.
How big is my panel?
Approximately 7.1 × 4.7 inches, printed on magnet.
How many other businesses share the board with me?
Four. Six panels, five of them for sale, and no two of the five are in the same trade. You are sharing the wall with four other shops, not eleven.
What is the difference between $600 and $900?
Position, and nothing else. $900 is a top‑row panel, next to the venue’s own notices, where people look first. There are two of those on a board. Everything else is identical — same size, same inclusions, same twelve months. A slot is $600 unless you ask for the top row.
When do the twelve months start?
The day the board is in place, not the day you pay. On that day we email you a photograph of the whole board where it stands and a close‑up of your own panel. That photograph’s date is the start date, and it is the same photograph the venue gets.
Can I pay only after I have seen the proof?
If you pay by cheque, we hold it while the board is being filled, printed and shipped, and we do not bank it until the working day after the installation photograph. So you can be in the arrangement without us touching your money until the board is up. Bank transfer is due at signing — see the next answer for what protects you then.
What if I do not like the artwork?
You see a proof before anything is printed, and the price includes two rounds of revisions. Until it is printed you can cancel for any reason and receive 100% back. After printing but before installation we refund everything except the print cost, which is capped at $75. The conditions are written down in the refund and fulfillment policy, not left to goodwill.
Will one of my competitors end up on the same board?
No. One business per category per board, for your whole term. We write your category on the agreement, and we do not sell another panel on that board to a business whose principal trade is the same as yours.
What happens if the venue closes, or the board comes down?
We refund the unused months, calculated month by month, within 30 days. If inside that time we can offer you a panel on another board in the same area, we tell you before refunding and you can take the panel instead. Either way you keep first refusal on a panel on the next board we place in that area.
Can the venue have my panel taken off?
Yes. The venue may ask for any panel to come off its own board and does not have to give a reason — that is in their agreement with us, and it is part of why venues say yes. If it happens to you, you are refunded month by month exactly as above, and we do not pass on the venue’s reason. It is not a statement about your business.
Does it renew automatically?
No. Nothing we sell renews automatically. We contact you 60 days before the term ends, you keep the first right to your panel, and a new term starts only if you agree to it in writing and pay for it.
Do you promise results?
No. We sell display space in a specific place for a specific length of time. We do not promise views, enquiries, phone calls, customers or sales, and the fee is not tied to any result. If you want to measure it, put a code or a QR on your panel and count the people who use it — that is the honest way to find out whether it works for your trade.

If you are thinking about hosting a board

You are being offered a free board for your venue. These are the questions a sensible person asks about that.

Is the board really free?
Yes. No fee, no deposit, no revenue share, and no obligation of any kind — during the agreement or after it ends. The board is yours to keep from the day it is installed, including if you later ask us to take our panels off. We also supply the markers for your own specials area and replace them on request.
What do I have to agree to?
Keep the board where you put it, visible and unobstructed, and tell us if it is damaged, moved or taken down. That is the whole list.
How long do I have to keep it up?
We ask for twelve months, because that is what the businesses on it have paid for. But you can end it at any time with 30 days’ written notice, with no penalty and no fee. Those two things are not in conflict: one is what we ask, the other is what you are entitled to.
Do I get to decide who appears on it?
Yes. We will not sell a panel to a business that competes directly with you. Beyond that, you can name any business you do not want on the board — before a panel is sold or at any time after the board is up — and you do not have to give a reason. It comes off within 14 days and does not go back.
Do you drill into my wall?
No. Never. The board is free‑standing and comes with its own stand, so in most places it is simply set down where you want it. If you would rather have it on the wall, the fixings come in the box at no cost to you — but you mount it, and it is always your choice. You pick the spot either way.
Who goes in the free panel?
A local nonprofit, chosen together with you — one per board. We design that panel around the ways people can actually support that organisation. It is not the panel nobody bought: it sits in the top row, in the best position on the board, and no advertiser can take it.
What does it cost me if I change my mind?
Nothing. You keep the board, you owe us nothing for it, and there is no charge for ending the arrangement. Our panels and our banner are magnetic — if we have not collected them within 30 days of your notice, you can take them off yourself and owe us nothing for doing so.

Something we have not answered?

Tell us your trade and your zip code and we will tell you which boards near you still have your category open. No obligation.
